HOME 6 DAYS MANYARA, SERENGETI, NGORONGORO AND TARANGIRE SAFARI
Tarangire National Park is the sixth largest national park in Tanzania with 2,600 sq km (1,005 sq miles), after Ruaha, Serengeti, Mikumi and Katavi. The name of the park originates from the Tarangire river that crosses through the park, being the only source of water for wild animals during dry seasons. Along the banks of this river you will find herds of wildebeest (or gnu) and zebra, followed by Grant’s gazelle, Thomson’s gazelle and many others. Creep around in the background lion and leopard keep a watchful eye on a possible meal. During the dry season thousands of animals migrate to the Tarangire National Park from Manyara.
DAY 1: KILIMANJARO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TO ARUSHA
Upon landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport, our driver will meet you and transfer Arusha town for overnight at your designated accommodation.
Day 2: ARUSHA TO LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
The tour starts with lunch in Arusha town at 1230hrs. 1400hrs, drive to Lake Manyara. Enjoy an evening game drive in the Lake National Park whose inhabitants include hippos, monkeys, tree climbing lions, flamingos and other varieties of birdlife. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 3: LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK TO SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
After an early breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park Lunch at the lodge. Spend the afternoon game viewing in the endless plains of the Serengeti for a chance to see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles or a pride of lions lounging in the shade. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK TO NGORONGORO CONSERVATION
Depart for an early morning around your lodge, return to the lodge for breakfast. Mid-morning, depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Lunch at the lodge. This afternoon, you will descend 2000 feet (over 600 meters) to the floor of the crater for a half day crater tour. Explore the forest areas that are inhabited by monkeys and elephants, the lake area, where you may see the flamingos and the open savannah where the lions hunt for food. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
DAY 5: NGORONGORO TO TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park. Arriving in time for lunch and an afternoon of game viewing. Lesser kudu, eland, lion and gerenuk can be found in this beautiful park, noted for its multitude of baobab trees and its tree- climbing lions. Dinner and overnight at the lodge
Day 6: TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK TO ARUSHA
Enjoy an early morning game drive in the Tarangire National Park. Breakfast at the lodge, around midafternoon enjoy lunch in one of the picnic sites inside the park, followed by slowly drive back to Arusha to connect with your flight back home at JRO
